There's so much going on right now, I don't know how you manage, but time seems to slip away quickly & there's tons to do. Here are a some helpful ways to remained centered over the next few weeks-
Recognizing what to prioritize and what to set aside will save you significant amounts of precious energy in the long run. By identifying what’s most important to you and what your goals are, you can start to do more of what’s most meaningfully productive. Often, we dedicate time to things that aren’t getting us closer to what we want. How much time are you dedicating to what’s most important?
Saying no is sometimes challenging, but we all need to create limits on what we can commit to otherwise we risk over-extending ourselves and possibly creating resentment. Before committing, take a moment and honestly assess whether you want to participate or give of your time or not. Know that it’s okay to have limitations.
3. Laughter and Fun
Don’t neglect your favorite pastimes when stress arises, this is when you need to take breaks and carve out room for fun, if and when possible. Try something new or seek out things that you enjoy or haven’t done in a while. What activities do you have to look forward to?
4. Connection With Others
One of the most important aspects of an emotionally healthy life is spending time others who offer nourishing and genuine relationships. We all get tired and want to curl up, but try to make an effort to cultivate these relationships in times of stress. Contact a family member or friend and make time to enjoy shared activities. The feeling of being a part of a greater whole will help prevent alienation and isolation. Reach out, you’ll feel better for it!
5. Finding Meaning
When our sense of purpose seems lost, life’s becomes mundane and difficult to deal with. Find inspiration and seek out meaningful activities that you are passionate about. What is one change you could make in your thinking or routine to make life more meaningful?
It’s always true that when you have your health, you have everything. Get the hours of quality sleep that you know you need, no negotiations. Eat healthfully with fresh meats, fruits and veggies. And even during the holidays, try to limit sugar and alcohol, they’ll derail you from feeling good, and as always, be sure to get in your workouts!
